WOW. I havent been this happy in a very long time. I have so much to say but I dont know how long this is allowed to be lol. First off, THANK YOU to both Edward Rausch and VetTix for this opportunity to make a huge memory with my 3 sons. I cannot express my gratitude enough. For the experience. On Sunday, it was lightly raining all day but I told my kids, lets try anyways. Even though it might get postponed, we owe it to the donor even if it meant sitting in the rain for 3hrs before getting postponed. We made the best of it. I worked a few extra hours to get a little extra money for each of my sons to get a shirt or hat of whichever driver they wanted to support so Jayden(15) chose a Joey Logano hat, Landyn(9) got a Logano shirt and hat and Zander(7) got a Kyle Busch shirt and hat (I know sorry, I failed to talk sense into him lol). Then we walked around and took pictures. Finally we found our seats. First thing I did was take a picture of our VetTix sign that they helped me make, which during the making gave me a chance to answer questions to them about my time in service and why I chose to serve and other things. While taking pics from our seats there was another Veteran that seen it and asked if he could use it which I said yes and we talked about our service and how much it was kool to have a service like VetTix to help us Veterans who possibly normally couldnt afford 4 nascar tickets or sporting event to take kids to. Which was my case as I have 5 kids total (3yr old stayed home, 20yr old is moved out). Anyways, during our 3hr rain delay it gave us time to hangout, talk and meet other people and even meet a lot of other VetTix participants. Some had the shirts, some were just talking about it and others seen our sign. Then, my greatest moment at any sports event happened. 3 nascar drivers were throwing the football to fans to kill time (Bubba Wallace and Corey Lajoie). When he came to our section I thought how kool it would be for just 1 of my boys to catch it and throw it back. However, 2 of my boys caught it!!! My oldest and my youngest which I had to lift up while he threw it back but they were gleeming ear to ear. Ive never seen them that excited to interact at any event we have been to. Its important to note that my 2 younger boys are very impatient but they were great during the 3hr rain delay and never complained. Anyways, after they officially postponed it I was bummed, I thought what am I going to do now. It was a 2hr drive each way. Anyways, after talking to my wife we decided I had to take them back on Monday. My work understood and my sons wanted to go back. On Monday we drove back up and got there right when the race was getting ready to start. The race was one of the best races I have seen in a long time. The entire time my boys were content and glued to watching it. Taking pics and videos. Laughing and joking around. Going up to the fence when drivers came around to get a full effect of a nascar car. It was so wild and kool. In the end, my driver (Hamlin) was beat out by my sons drivers and they made sure to remind me every second of the journey home lol. It goes without saying I now have 3 sons that love nascar, this after I couldnt even get them to watch a single lap on tv. In the end, like I said, words cannot express my gratitude. Ive made memories that can never be taken from us. Theres no doubt in my mind I couldnt have afforded to take all of us to a race without the help of VetTix and the donors that support it. I have shared my experience all over social media and have had a lot of people say they are a member of VetTix or ask how they become one. Which is why it is very important to share these experiences to social media. Again, THANK YOUsoooo very much from the bottom of my heart. THANK YOU VetTix and Mr. Rausch from the Compton Family. I owe you more then you know.
