Dear 1st Tix and the AEG Team, I am writing this letter to share my deepest, most sincere gratitude for the incredible opportunity to attend the Journey concert on September 14 at the Pechanga Sports Arena in San Diego. Through the 1st Tix platform, you provided me with an evening that I will cherish for a very long time, and I wanted to take a moment to express just how much this gesture meant to me personally. As a nurse, the past few years have been some of the most demanding of my career. The nature of healthcare means long, physically exhausting shifts, high-pressure environments, and a constant dedication to the well-being of others. While the work is deeply rewarding, it can also lead to a quiet kind of fatigue that settles deep in your bones and mind. Opportunities to truly "switch off" and recharge are rare, but when they do come, they are absolutely vital for maintaining my own mental health and resilience. Stepping into the Pechanga Sports Arena that night was like a weight being lifted off my shoulders. Being able to experience the music of a band as iconic as Journey was more than just entertainment; it was a necessary moment of joy and a chance to simply be a fan rather than a caregiver. The music provided a much-needed mental reset, allowing me to return to my life and my duties with a renewed sense of clarity and spirit. I also want you to know that I never take these gifts lightly. I am fully committed to the ecosystem that makes these experiences possible. Because you made the tickets accessible, I was able to fully lean into the concert experience, and I made it a point to support the venue by purchasing food, drinks, and merchandise throughout the night. It brings me genuine happiness to contribute back to the people and places that help create these moments of respite for those of us who spend our days caring for others. I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for the privilege of attending Beethoven’s ninth with your tickets last night. As I got lost in the beautiful music last night, my mind wandered back 25 years. My second day as a patrolman with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office was 9/11. I remembered how people were genuinely in fear, and showed great respect and reverence for police officers while we patrolled our communities. This lasted approximately six months until the fear subsided, and that respect dwindled away. Certainly my profession has taken a beating since 2020. I just wanted to share this with you because you don’t know me or my wife (she is an elementary school teacher), but we were able to have a wonderful date night without the kids, and I truly appreciate your generosity!
