Thank you RP funding for allowing my wife and I to attend this marvelous performance as your guests. My wife grew up with horses and rode on Skidmore College's jumping team so she was thrilled to be at the show. I was most captivated by the historical background the show presented about each of the breeds and the significant role the horse played in military history. It was enlightening to learn that much of equine performance we enjoy today was derived from the necessities of combat when the horse played a pivotal role as part of the military. It was understandable that General Patton found it critical to save the remnants of a decimated breed at the conclusion of WWII.
