Thank you to the Philadelphia Flyers for making this experience great. We are actually Tampa Bay Lightning fans, so seeing our team win was a bonus. But one specific part of the experience stood out. We headed to the lower level near the Lightning bench to watch warm-ups when we arrived at the arena. At the entrance to section 102/103, an usher stopped us and asked if we had seats in his section. We explained that we did not and we just planned to watch the pre-game warm-ups before going to our actual seats. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out two packs of loose hockey cards wrapped in paper with the word “Bolts” hand-written on them. Each package contained about 15 cards of former Lightning players (and one current player). This act of kindness towards an opposing team’s fans is not what I expected in Philadelphia, but I am so glad my kids got to experience it. A special thank you to the usher who made our night. My only regret is not getting his name.
