Wow!!! What an amazing opportunity! We were selected for the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway and were excited as none of us (myself, my wife and my daughter) had ever been to a NASCAR race. We made the trip down to Daytona excited to see the United Rentals 300 only to have the event rained out and canceled the day we were supposed to see it. No worries though as we still had a blast just seeing the event and even some drivers earlier in the day run qualifying laps. We decided to stay in the area for the weekend and just enjoy a family weekend together with the opportunity to see the United Rentals 300 on Monday post the Daytona 500. Then Sunday the Daytona 500 was canceled due to inclement weather. So it to was postponed till Monday. But here is where it gets really cool and very humbling. NASCAR, Inc decided to allow ticket holders for the United Rentals 300 to attend the first ever double header rescheduled Daytona 500 and United Rentals 300 on Monday. After some rain delays that morning the sky opened up to a beautiful blue and our family had a day we will NOT forget!! We got to see the Daytona 500 and then we stuck around and got to see the United Rentals 300 as that was the tickets and race that we originally were donated tickets to see. Such an incredible event and one we did not take for granted as we were humbled for the incredible opportunity! And just so you know NASCAR, Inc. you added three more fans to your list with our little family! My daughter told me on the way home “Dad, NASCAR is really cool and they even have girl drivers!!” Again, “Thank You” so much for this opportunity and experience. The last thing I will say is that one thing our family all took away from this and talked about on the way home was the community and family NASCAR seems to have with its fans. The people at the event (both event organizers and fans) were so amazing! What you have accomplished with your fans is more than a fan base but a family and community that we are excited to join!
