Dear Donors, The race was spectacular. Thank you for your generous gift to me and my friend. Vets like me wait for the really good events. This was one of them. Thank you, Paul Dear Donors, The true value of life is often better evaluated through experiences and memories made from them. For it is memories that punctuate the duration of time we mortals enjoy, not weeks, months or years. So every once in a while, when serendipity and coincidence collaborate with each other, amazing and unexpected opportunities arise. One such opportunity came about when my friend Paul Smith called me and asked if I would like to accompany him to a NASCAR race for which he had won free tickets. Having lived in this country for over two decades, I have enjoyed watching many exciting and entertaining sports on TV, but watching a live NASCAR race in the stadium had not been one of them. Fortunately, I had not made any plans for the day of the race and I gladly accepted Paul’s offer. As I look back at the whole day of driving to the event with anticipated excitement, watching the cars race at 180 miles per hour, cherishing the comradery and friendship while watching the race together, and the thrill of eagerly waiting to see which car crosses the checkered flag first – all of it is beautifully burned into my memory. Indeed all of this came true because of donors like you. Through your generosity, you made it possible for us friends to create a wonderful unique exciting memory of watching a race with a nail biting finish! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
