Thank you, National Hot Rod Association - NHRA, for the tickets. Friends and I traveled 2.5 hours, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin down to Joliet, Illinois. We parked, entered the gate, and witnessed Route 66 Raceway. Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Modified Pro Stock. A strong West to East wind brought record speeds and times. It was Armed Forces Day, and they gave Vets a commemorative coin. A Funny Car caught fire, but the driver was OK. The seedings numbered 1 through 16 in each class. We visited the pits and booths. Overall, an excellent Nationals qualification day for spectators. We thank you for supporting the military.
