Thank you, Vet Tix, Major League Baseball, Chase Field, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates, the Police, Security, vendors, promoters, coordinators, and your great staffs for a most splendid evening and game. Chase Field is a fantastic stadium. We had seats in Section 331, Row 25, in Left Field overlooking the entire arena, but the stadium wasn't full, so we grabbed seats in Section 142, Left Center. The roof was closed, but the atmosphere was just right. The variety of food and beverages inside the stadium is always a bonus, but you are allowed to bring your own, so we broughtwater and snacks. A Moment of Silence for our fallen heros, the Presentation of our Colors, and the singing of our National Anthem, before the game, and God Bless America, during the Seventh Inning Stretch, were performed by the U. S. Army and Navy. Of course, Bobby Freeman and his pipe organ led us in singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game. They were all special, since it was Memorial Day. It was noteworthy for others reasons as well. For instance, it was my friend, Tony's, 75th birthday, which is why I got tickets in the first place. What was also cool is it was "Lest We Forget (red poppy)" hat giveaway day for the initial 20,000 fans. As if all that weren't enough, we received personal bobblehead dolls and got to take pictures with several mascots. It was almost as good as when I won tix to the World Series, at Chase, in 2023. This was on top of my wife's and my throwing Tony a birthday party at our home before the game. He had a magnificent day, and we were delighted to be able to share it with him! During the game, there were plenty of family activities and festivities, and people and groups were honored, such as: the Hot Dog Derby (Mayo won); Muscle Cam; Budweiser Cheers to Heros (military and first responders); Cox Legends Race (Mark Grace, Matt Williams, Randy Johnson, and Luis Gonzalez; RJ won); Pirate Ship Float or Sink (sunk); Cap Shuffle (#1); aps Electric Moments; D-backs 50/50 Charity Raffle, etc. The D-Back's bats were hot from the very first inning, and they remained so throughout the game. So were their pitching and fielding, mostly from putting the ball in play. In the third inning, Suarez crushed a ball 412 feet into Center Field, about 35 feet away from where we were sitting. What a rocket! The game was pretty much within the D-Backs control until the 8th inning when the current D-Back's pitcher loaded the bases, with no outs, by throwing numerous balls in the dirt. The fans went crazy and booed so loudly he was yanked. Fortunately, the relief pitcher got them out of that mess unscathed. The game ended with the D-Back's winning 5 to 0! Hooray! Again, thank you, Vet Tix, Major League Baseball, Chase Field, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates, the Police, Security, vendors, promoters, coordinators, and your stupendous teams for making so many people happy. We, active military personnel, veterans, first responders, our families and friends, truly appreciate all you do for us, our communities, and our blessed nation! You rock! Sincerely, Chuck
