Dear VetTix and 97.1 The River: thank you SO VERY MUCH for two concert tickets to see the amazing Joan Jett and Billy Idol in concert! Both musicians hold a special place in my heart. I first saw Joan Jett back in the early 80’s when she played at a small local venue where I lived in rural Wisconsin. I was 16 at the time and had not yet heard of her. But I remember all my friends just talking and dancing to the music. But I stood in front of the stage in AWE!! She had an incredible voice and her lead guitarist was playing these incredible long guitar solos. I’d never witnessed such a powerful performance in my life! I was looking around at the people around me in amazement…like, why are you guys not realizing this GREATNESS on the stage! I just KNEW that Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were on their way to stardom. I joined the Air Force after high school graduation. I met my husband, Tom, in the late 80’s, and he was in the Air Force, too. We married in 1989, and we used Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” as one of our wedding songs! What an absolute TREAT to see both bands in concert on the same night! The seats were excellent and quite close to the stage! We enjoyed ourselves so much! What a great night!! We owe it all to VetTix and 97.1 The River!!
