Dear VetTix and 97.1 The River: thank you SO VERY MUCH for two concert tickets to see the amazing Joan Jett and Billy Idol in concert! Both musicians hold a special place in my heart. I first saw Joan Jett back in the early 80’s when she played at a small local venue where I lived in rural Wisconsin. I was 16 at the time and had not yet heard of her. But I remember all my friends just talking and dancing to the music. But I stood in front of the stage in AWE!! She had an incredible voice and her lead guitarist was playing these incredible long guitar solos. I’d never witnessed such a powerful performance in my life! I was looking around at the people around me in amazement…like, why are you guys not realizing this GREATNESS on the stage! I just KNEW that Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were on their way to stardom. I joined the Air Force after high school graduation. I met my husband, Tom, in the late 80’s, and he was in the Air Force, too. We married in 1989, and we used Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” as one of our wedding songs! What an absolute TREAT to see both bands in concert on the same night! The seats were excellent and quite close to the stage! We enjoyed ourselves so much! What a great night!! We owe it all to VetTix and 97.1 The River!!

Just wanted to say thanks to Vet Tix and its donors who gave us the opportunity to see Billy Idol and Joan Jett. It was a first to see Billy and the 3rd for Joan. Loved the show and Billy's guitarist was on fire last night. Nice seats...about 19 rows from the stage if I count correctly.

Lately I have been struggling with my mental health and work. I wanted to go see this show. I kept hearing about it on the radio. but I never purchased a ticket. I asked another veteran if they wanted to go with me. They wanted to but then something happened and they could not. Theo only tickets left were to sit on the grass and it was supposed to rain. I had never been to this venue before. I gave up on attending. Then I received and email from Vet Tix saying they had tickets. I bought a ticket not knowing exactly where I was going to be sitting. I am so thankful for the sponsors and Vet Tix for providing the tickets and for Vet Tix for helping me go to the show. It was a very memorable event. I love music all types and going to this concert reminded me that self care is important and doing the things I enjoy, like going to concerts is important to my well being. There were some guys who had the Vet Tix sing and they took my picture with in in between the two concerts. This was a very memorable event. I came away from it feeling so much better mentally and refreshed. Thank you to the sponsors and to Vet Tix.
